                                               WJHS Awards Night

Westwood Junior High School held their annual Award Ceremony at the First Baptist Church in Palestine.  The ceremony was led by WJHS Principal, Sonya Brown.  A variety of awards were given out from athletic awards to departmental awards to perfect attendance to Class Favorites. Congratulations to everyone who received an award this year!

WJHS Hollywood Night Red Carpet Formal

Congratulations to the King and Queen of the Hollywood Night Red Carpet Formal recently held at the East Texas Museum in Palestine.  They are WJHS eighth graders, Aven Mays and Gabby Saldana! The Best Dressed Award went to Addison Dockweiler and Jordan Owens while Mr. and Miss Hospitality went to Josh Guardiola and Kaitlyn Armour.   The dance was sponsored by the WJHS Parent Support Group led by Crystal Feagins.  For any parents wanting to get involved with the PSG next year, you may email wwjhpsg@yahoo.com.
    
 All A Picnic

 All A Picnic

Congratulations to the Westwood Junior High students who received all As for the 5th 6 weeks! These students were treated to a picnic with grilled hotdogs at the park.  Students also played kickball and joined in a send-off a student at the high school who qualified for the state track meet. Mrs. Morrow, the school’s librarian, organized the picnic for the students, and grilled the hotdogs. The students and Mrs. Morrow would like to say thank you to WJHS Principal, Sonya Brown, for her support this year with the Accelerated Reader Program, and to Coach Kevin Hays for the use of the Westwood tent. They students who attended are: Danika Berry, Kaitlyn Cook, Addison Dockweiler, Joel Dougay, Kinley Haas, Jordan Howell, Patricia Jackson, Tyler Johnson, Simone Lee, Sean Miller, Tristain Morgan, Abigail Nichols, Olivia Wendell, Jaci Weston, Alejandra Zamarripa, Nicolas Escobar, Taelor Herrington, Jackelyn Hutcherson, Hannah Staples, Jaron Thompson, and Marilyn Umanzor.
