Deborah Woody

Hello My Name Is...

Coach Deborah Woody

I have two Bachelors degrees, one in Social Science with a concentration in Education, and one in Health & Wellness.  I also hold a Masters Degree in Education with a concentration in Higher Education.  I am a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda and Golden Key Honor Societies and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ashford University.  I hold high regard for hard work and the highest standards and expectations when it comes to my own, my child's, as well as students' education.  I feel that education is not simply a right but a privilege, as one will only take away from it the amount of effort they put into it.  I feel that it is my calling to guide, inspire, and motivate my students to take all the opportunities and use all the resources that are afforded to them.

Parents of Careers students:
I'm excited about the 2015-2016 school year and am glad that I get to be a resource for your child in their exploration of their career paths.  In our class we have the opportunity to research and learn about resources that will help make informed  choices. The students will have the opportunity to explore resources such as college and scholarship opportunities, technical schools, and other career preparation programs.
All eight grade students are required to take this course and my intentions are to prepare them with the knowledge and resources in which they can successfully continue towards their career paths of their choice.  I work closely with the counselors and by the end of their semester with me they will have the tools and resources necessary to not only narrow their career path, but complete their High School Freshman schedule.
I'm looking forward to this year with the Class of 2020 and hope that I can provide them with the answers that they may be looking for in their early exploration of their future Career Path.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to click on the Contact Me link on the left of this page.

Girls Athletics

Parents of Athletic Girls:
I am proud and excited to be one of many girls coaches on staff at the Junior High and am looking forward to the upcoming 2015-2016 Volleyball, Basketball, & Track season.  As a coach for WJH we instill the highest expectations of your athlete and hope to be implemental in not only their athletic success, but also in their academic success as well.
If you have any questions about the athletic policies, guidelines, forms, or schedules, from the District homepage click on Departments > Athletics and choose the appropriate choice from the drop down menu.  If I can be any further assistance to you, you may click on the Contact Me link to the left and I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
We are hoping to have an incredible season and are looking forward to working with your student.

It's another school year and with new years comes changes.  In order to better serve the information that we share with our young students we have now created a Health program that will have a more inviting atmosphere for learning.  As your daughter's Health teacher I will be following the standard Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) that are designed to be age appropriate for our young students.  Being a female in a an all female class, I hope to create a more relaxed environment that will allow your student the opportunity to ask questions that may otherwise be uncomfortable in a co-ed environment.  I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with our young ladies in this capacity for the 2015-2016 school year.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to drop me a message by clicking on the "contact me" link to the left.
