Student Construct Cardboard Sculptures
The art class at WJHS is learning about using recycled materials to make sculptures, props and other various works of art. Students decided on a subject for their build, segmented their object into pieces (making a blueprint), and began constructing it primarily out of cardboard. Once completed, students will paint their creations and add any additional details. This project demonstrates that you don't have to use the most expensive materials to make a work of art. Ordinary objects can be turned into something extraordinary. Mr. Hanna is the art teacher.
Cardboard Relief Sculptures
Eighth-grade WJHS students, Aniya White and Madi Reno, have been learning about sculptures while creating cardboard relief sculptures that will double as a portfolio for their drawings. In addition to the relief sculptures, the students are creating masks using paper sculpture techniques such as, scoring, folding, and curling to create masks. The teacher is Mrs. Kim Kennedy.
